This is a 6 days/5 night’s tour to show you the seven churches that were talked about in the book of revelation.
You will be received by our representative at Izmir airport, and proceed to your first visit, the Ancient Smyrna, poor and persecuted. The church at Smyrna suffered amidst prosperity for its refusal to worship the Roman Emperor.
Then we will lead to Pergamon which is home for two of the country's most celebrated archaeological sites: Acropolis and Asclepion. In the early Christian era, Pergamon's church was a major center of Christianity and was one of the Seven Churches of Revelation.
Drive to Sardis, another of the Seven Churches of Revelation. You will be impressed by the massive scale of the Temple of Artemis, by the white marble Royal Road, by the gymnasium, and by the synagogue.
Drive to the hotel for dinner and have the rest of the evening at leisure.
After breakfast, we will drive for visit the site of Philadelphia also one of the Seven Churches of Revelation. Today, not much is left to mark the spot. You will see an ancient wall and the remains of a Byzantine basilica. Then we will head to Laodicea where you will walk through the stadium and columned streets and a chance to witness the newest excavations in Laodicea.
After you will continue to Hierapolis, an ancient city of pagan cults.
Return to the hotel for dinner and have the rest of the evening at leisure.
Today we will drive toward Ephesus which is one of the Seven Churches of Revelation. Walk the marble-paved street with grooves made by chariot wheels. See the Fountain of Trajan, the Library of Celsus, and the Great Theatre with a capacity of 24.000 spectators. Visit the Chapel of the Virgin Mary (Double Church), where the Third Ancient Council convened. Continue to visit the Basilica of St. John, early tradition associated John, the disciple of Jesus and the author of the Gospel of John and the Book of Revelation, with the city of Ephesus.
Return to the hotel for dinner and have the rest of the evening at leisure.
After breakfast you will be transferred back to Izmir airport for your flight to Istanbul where you will be met and transferred to your hotel. You have the rest of the day at leisure to do your own visit of the city and shopping.
For this day, you are free to do your shopping and visiting the Istanbul city.
You will be transferred to the airport for your flight back home.
