Currently, Kendirita Tours and Travel directly supports over 26 families through employment, with 16 full-time and over 10 part-time employees. Beyond employment, we are actively engaged in various community projects that create a lasting impact.
We are committed to supporting education by sponsoring students from underprivileged backgrounds through secondary school. At present, we have five students enrolled in various schools across Kenya. In 2024, one of our sponsored students successfully completed her Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) and achieved a grade that secured her a place at the university. This year (2025), two more students will be sitting for their KCSE exams, and we are excited to support them on their journey.
In collaboration with the Y's Men Club of Nairobi, we have embarked on a four-year initiative to support students in Kibera schools. What started as a project to provide sanitary pads for girls has expanded into a comprehensive care package for all students.
These packages are distributed at the beginning of every school term. In addition, we conduct mentorship sessions to inspire and guide the students.
We believe in nurturing future professionals in the tourism industry. Through our training and mentorship program, we take fresh graduates from local colleges and universities, equipping them with industry skills and preparing them for the job market. Many of our trainees have gone on to build successful careers in the tourism industry, while some have been absorbed into our company, becoming valuable team members.
We actively participate in tree-planting initiatives by purchasing and planting seedlings as part of our commitment to environmental conservation. Additionally, we take part in the annual Standard Chartered Marathon, which raises funds for various community projects.
We have taken meaningful steps, but we aspire to do even more. Our goal is to expand our education sponsorships beyond secondary school and support students through college and university. We also plan to enhance our contributions to Kibera schools, ensuring that students learn in a comfortable and empowering environment.
